This is one of a set of 12 similar miniature books, according to Pistner, this German version was published in 1896 by G. Weise in Stuttgart. The German set was known as Miniatur-Bibliothek fur junge Madchen.  The publishing house was founded by Gustav Weise, the former co-owner of Julius Weise's court bookstore, in Stuttgart in 1863. In 1921, A. Tuneewa referred to a German version held in the Odessa State Library, that she attributes to the writer Klara Reichner (pseudonym for Klara Jochner).
