Set in Edwardian London, Night and Day contrasts the daily lives and romantic attachments of two acquaintances, Katharine Hilbery and Mary Datchet. The novel examines the relationships between love, marriage, happiness, and success. This is one of a reported 1500 print run, of which 1326 were sold at $2.25 each (the second American edition in 1931 was sold by Harcourt, Brace for only $1.35 each!).
