James Greenwood was published as the "Amateur Casual". Social commentary. The 'seven curses' were: Neglected Children, Professional Thieves, Professional Beggars, Fallen Women, The Curse of Drunkenness, Betting Gamblers, and Waste of Charity. Undated, but 1869 (Copyright receipt stamp dated 1869). Portrait of author as frontispiece. viii, 461, 1 unnumbered page :  the last, unnumbered page being publisher's advertisements; first edition. Original bevelled, brown cloth-covered boards. Corners slightly worn.  Spine is worn at the head and at the tail with a minuscule strip missing. The hinges are strained, worn and  damaged but still holding. The text block is sound. The pages are slightly age-toned. OCLC number 976922556. WorldCat locates a copy in the British Library and two in Toronto.
