Spine with double horizontal lines of navy blue enamellingbetween the four compartments. Front cover with two red and white Malteses enamel crosses, two white and blue enamel shields and a porttait of the one-eyed poet in blue, pink, green amd white enamel with blue enamel oval frame and green semi-circular enamel corner-pieces. Very detailed and fine filigree work and complete with clasp. Page block very slightly spotted. Top edges gilt. Contemporary ink inscriptionand four different signatures on front free endpaper.  45 x 60 mm. Original green faux morocco with gilt titling on spine and front cover; with oval portrait of the one-eyed author in gilt. Green binding mottled from the tarnishing of the book cover.
