Embossed rectangular form, the domed hinged lid with plain scrolled cartouche, embossed and engraved decoration, and fully silver gilt interior. 3.6 x 5.2 cm. With printed and hand written insurance valuation dated 26th October 1973 for £40.00. W. Duke, Sons & Co. was a tobacco manufacturer founded by Washington Duke in 1881. His son, James B. Duke, later became president of the American Tobacco Company. All edges gilt. One set with red geometrical backs and the other with identical decoration but in green.
