Each of the four sections (Poems; Princess and Maud; In Memoriam and other Poems; Idylls of the King and other poems) opens with a black & white illustration and there are other additional black & white illustrations. 1924 tiny inscription of former owner on front free endpaper. Earlier owner's tiny stamp on recto of blank preliminary page. 34 x 53mm. Original orange cloth with lettering and spine decoration in silver (inner hinge cracked; slightly age-darkened and hint of a vertical crease in the spine's centre; page block slightly dust-toned). Provenance: L. and V.L. Davies (no further information available). Bryce published in 1905 a four-volume edition of Tennyson, which was followed by, or published simultaneously with, this one-volume edition. Bondy refers to this edition as "rare." Garbett only refers to copies in green cloth, blue roan or morocco and says that it is often found in a broken state.
